pier 1 imports

July 22, 2010

I spent last weekend moving into my new apartment. My mom put her fantastic interior design skills to work and gave me a sophisticated, young adult room that I absolutely love! There is no pink anywhere in my room (an accomplishment for me). My mom and I bought so much stuff this weekend it’s ridiculous! One of the first stores we stopped at was Pier 1 Imports.

I posted about an elephant table from Pier 1 Imports a little while ago but I have to mention this store again. They have so much elephant decor in that store I couldn’t believe it. Everywhere I turned there was something else in the store that was elephant-themed. And the Pier 1 website does not nearly showcase the amount of elephant products in the store. In the store there’s about twice as much as shown on the website!

Here are a few of my favorites…

This jeweled elephant is beautiful. It is a hand-crafted and hand-painted wooden elephant:

Jeweled Elephant, $79.98 (clearance), Pier 1

Next up are these adorable salt and pepper shaker. I would over-season my food just so I could use these:

Elephant Salt & Pepper Shakers, $8.00, Pier 1

If you thought the salt and pepper shakers were cute, these have them beat 20 times over. And I’m about 100 percent sure that I’ll be buying these:

Elephant Measuring Cup, Pier 1, $14.95

Just in case you were having trouble remembering to take a shower everyday, this might help:

Elephant Loofah, $1.08 (clearance), Pier 1

I hope these items are proof that Pier 1 Imports has THE BEST elephant products for your home! THE BEST!

elephant table

June 23, 2010

This is not the post I had planned, but I lost my camera charger. Without my camera charger, I can’t charge my camera battery. And since my camera battery is dead I can’t upload my camera pictures. I need those pictures for the post I wish I was writing. My friend is sending me my charger so I hope it gets here soon.

The first runner up post is about this table from Pier 1 Imports

Elephant Table, $69.98, Pier 1 Imports

My friend Dione was shopping the other day and sent me this picture from Pier 1 Imports. Shout out to Dione because she provides me with about half of my material for this blog. I love her.

I think this table would be a great addition to any decor, but it would especially go well in a Victorian-inspired living room or bedroom. Additionally, this table is hand-woven, hand-painted, and hand-finished so I would expect it to be pretty good quality. Regular price is $99.95 but right now its on clearance for $69.98. The Pier 1 Imports website says limited availability, so if you want this table act fast!

In the meantime I’ll be waiting for my camera charger so I can write my Happy Birthday post!

so adorable i could eat it

lover of parfaits, the color pink, and elephants

That is my twitter bio. I hate to admit it but it’s actually a pretty accurate description of myself. If you can imagine a young lady who obsesses over yumlicious yogurt layered with fruit and granola, whose room has enough pink in it to make you puke, and who has a blog about elephants (I mean, who does that?) you would be imagining me! :)

I mention my bio because I found two of my loves in one. This piggy bank, or should I say elephant bank, is soooo freakin adorable that I could eat it.

Elephant Bank, $12.00, Urban Outfitters

It’s pink and it’s an elephant. Two out of three ain’t bad. And maybe from the money I save I’ll be able to buy a couple parfaits :)

elephants to keep you warm at night

April 13, 2010
It’s getting a little warm outside and I’m realizing my corduroy comforter is made for the cold winter months. It is too big and bulky for spring and summer. I’m starting to get hot at night (which I hate!!) and I’m starting to wish I had something a little lighter to keep me warm. So I would really like to invest in a nice duvet/down comforter. I hope to find something at a decent price but still good quality. While I was browsing I started looking at duvet covers and of course I had to search for elephant ones. I found this gorgeous white one at this site called The Quilt Crazy Shop. They seem to have some quality items which unfortunately means its on the pricier side. I definitely won’t be buying this due to the price, but I just wanted to showcase this beautiful white and gold elephant comforter. The design is so intricate and you can tell that it took time to create.

Elephant Art Duvet Comforter Cover Set, $192.85, The Quilt Crazy Shop

I’m kind of wondering why the price for the king size one is $192.85 and the cost for the queen size is $246.05. Doesn’t really make sense to me. Maybe because queen is more popular??? Who knows…

The description of the comforter talks about how in the Mughal Empire, the Majaraja, or prince, would journey into town surrounded by Indian elephants. The elephants would be adorned with exotic jewels and beautiful colors and were seen as a symbol of wealth and royalty.

I know I’ve mentioned my birthday on here like twenty times, but I just want to be sure you have lots of options when you send me my present. So this duvet cover is a great option if you still haven’t decided what you will be getting me :)

to hold your encyclopedias up

March 3, 2010

While I was at  browsing the interwebs today because, unfortunately, I don’t have much else to do I came across these…

Elephant Bookends, Barneys New York, $295.00

Yes, they are wonderful I know! Handmade in Italy. Wow. Unfortunately, I am poor, just out of college, and working for the government, so there is no way I will be able to afford something this nice in oh, about 20 years. However, all hope is not lost! Those of us who can’t afford $300 bookends can still hold up our encyclopedia collections. Instead of Barneys we will shop at our beloved Target (pronounced Tar-jay) and we will buy these…

Baby Elephant Bookends, Target, $9.99

Target always comes to the rescue! These bookends are lovely as well. The abstract design is unique. One thing I really like about elephants is that no matter how abstract people design them, you can always tell that they are meant to be elephants. The trunk and the ears make it so that elephants are never mistaken.
